The reason why a Just and Holy God can completely wipe the slate clean of ALL your sins and remove all the evidence is because someone else ALREADY PAID THE PRICE FOR YOU.

 

Jesus died on the cross in your place. 
He was substituted for you.

 

He took your place, and the judgment for your sins fell on Him.

 

That’s why you can be declared innocent!

That's why there is no evidence to convict you. Someone else already paid the price in your place.

 

This is the doctrine of Substitution.

 

The Bible says, "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God." 1st Peter 3:18 [Bold Type Mine]

Now, whenever God the Father looks at you, He sees you clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

 

As far as righteousness is concerned, you and Jesus both look exactly the same to Him and He treats you exactly the same if you let Him. All He needs is for you to believe...

 

The Bible says, "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2nd Corinthians 5:21

 

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:4-6

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 1st John 4:17
